Welcome to the Outings Group!

We would love to have your company on our interesting and enjoyable outings. We usually arrange one every two months e.g. February, April, June, August, October and December and details will be publicised in the Monthly Newsletter and on this website. Bookings are open to all u3a members and may be made at every Open Meeting and we ask that payments are made by debit card or cheque payable to "Burnley & District u3a"

Previous outings have included a Cruise on the Manchester Ship Canal with lunch, Christmas at the Dunkenhalgh, Lytham Hall and the Snowdrop Trail, Astley Hall and the Mormon Temple, the City of Liverpool, Titus Salt's village at Saltaire, Port Sunlight and Christmas through the decades at Harewood House..

We have a varied programme planned and we look forward to the pleasure of your company!

CHESTER'S CHRISTMAS MARKET Wednesday 25 November 2026

Enjoy the festive spirit at Chester's Christmas Market! There's no better place to visit at this magical time of the year than the beautiful city of Chester as it come alive with the spirit of Christmas. See the Christmas Market and the shops on the medieval Rows, the magnificent Cathedral or simply walk by the river. But first, enjoy a hot drink and cake before we arrive in Chester!

£20 includes travel by 49-seater coach, driver's gratuity and tea/coffee and cake enroute.

Burnley Bus Station depart 0900, Padiham Town Hall 0920; Chester depart 1600, due back around 1800
